Do you ever...

Wake up in the middle of the night because you're so hungry you could just cry?

I do. To some, 4 a.m. is not the middle of the night, but to yours truly, it might as well be.

At 4 a.m. I was thinking about oatmeal and a bagel with my grandma's homemade rhubarb jam.

I wonder if my hunger had something to do with my dream.

I was playing hide and seek.

For hours it seemed.

With a bunch of grown ups.

And I was running around a lot.

And I was hiding in a gym locker trying not to breath loudly.

After a while I got tired of running and hiding and I wondered how long the game would last.

And then I realized it was a dream and so I woke up.

But then I was hungry.

And now I'm tired ... and hungry again.

Man, it's been a long day.

That is funny. This happened to Bailee last night right around that same time. I had to get out of my warm bed and get her a slice a bread and milk.

Did that help with the hunger pangs? Feel better? If not, try Sominex© for a restful, fuller, more nutritious sleep.

4 a.m. I hate waking up at 4 in the morning. I have a cat that decides that she needs out every single morning between 4 & 4:30. My alarm goes off at 5, there is not enough time to fall back asleep after she wakes me up, so basically I am up for the duration.

I have tried putting her out before I go to bed and one of the kids will let her back in through their window, then she makes her way into my room. I have tried ignoring her but that doesn't work. This is the routine:
Jump onto my bed. Sit at the bottom of the bed and stare at me. Lay on my feet. Walk across my body to my head. Sit and stare at me. If I turn over, she will walk across me and sit on the other side and stare. If I still ignore her, she then starts poking me in the face with her paw until I get up and let her out.

Maybe I should get some Sominex for her so I can sleep that extra hour?

Sandra,
I don't know you, but I think it's time to find a new cat.
Nice hiding place Noelle. They'll never find you in the locker, esp if you breathe quietly.

Whew...that just made me tired!

Dave and Sandra,

Sominex is not all that. Trust me, I've tried it.

But maybe for a cat it just might do the trick!

The cat had kittens yesterday. In a box in the boys' bedroom. She was not happy when I banished her and the kittens to a box in the garage last night. But at least I got to sleep in a bit.

As for sleep aids, I won't use them. I tried one once, I slept for 48 hrs straight and then walked around like a zombie for the 3 days after that.

Hi Noelle!
I've really been enjoying reading your blog and getting a glimpse of what you are up to these days. You look so great and seem just as fun and nice as you were back at PGHS! I love your list today - so funny!

Sandra, two words - "Pet door"

Reedless, Ya, I have a pet door in the garage for her to go outside from there. I don't really want the neighborhood cats and small dogs in my house- hence no pet door coming into my house.
