This Isn't My Dress

But this is me...

In a dress.

I think I was 17 or 18 years old.

My dress doesn't look anything like this dress.

And I can guarantee my veil won't be so...poofy...is that a word?

I tried on my dress again yesterday.

The seamstress has to do one more thing and it will be ready to go.

Stay tuned...

So who's dress was it and why were you wearing it?

Poofy... well, when I typed it, the little red line popped up underneath it. So, survey says, no it's not a word. But that's never stopped me from using it! hehee.

Aw, that's a pretty dress -- it's not that poofy! How come you were wearing a wedding dress?

I bet you were just doing a little house cleaning in that dress! You just never know who might show up at your door.

We had a neighbor who made wedding dresses for a living, and so one day all of the girls in the neighborhood were invited to her house to try on dresses for fun.

I remember not really wanting to go but I'm pretty sure my mom made me. :)

I love the crazy '80s dress.

The words "this is not my dress" have never prompted such an enormous sigh of relief EVER. :)

Good times in YW.

Ha, I laughed because one of my auntie's used a dress like that.

I love that fashion changes every day.

Wow. That reminds me of my wedding dress. Yeah, the one that I hid away, and refuse to let my daughters entertain the thought of wearing it themselves. Not that they would, if they took a real good look at it. Ick.
Be glad you are getting married in 2010, not in 1982. Except now, it's REALLY hard to find a gown with sleeves. Must be a backlashes from all the '80's mutton sleeves. Yes, that's what they really called them, if you can believe it.

LOL I remember that!!! It was a YW activity. I actually got my dress from her when I got married! But not THAT dress ;)
