Houston, we have landed

As in, Emily has landed :)

It's Baby Sister here

Noelle asked me to post a quick update for you all

She was in labor for 24 hours

Three of those hours found her pushing with all her might, but to no avail and they ended up doing a C-section

She was finally born at 5:00 this morning...or somewhere around there

Noelle didn't see her before they took her to nicu, but Jason did

She wasn't breathing initially and is still having some breathing difficulties, but is doing better

They are still waiting to hear from the cardiologist, but mom and dad are doing fine

Just exhausted and trying to get some sleep

Baby Emily ended up weighing 6 lbs 10 ozs and is 19 inches long

And now, the part you've all been waiting for...

She's beautiful :)

I can see some of both in her already

Now, if you'll excuse me, I must go dry my tears and get back to work

One of us will give you an update as soon as we know anything more :)

ps I'm sorry about the lack of fluidity in this post...I didn't sleep very well last night at all and have a slight migraine and am very tired...I couldn't help but be anxious for this little girl to come into the world :)

Emily, you are one of the most beautiful babies ever! But your little bp cuff makes me cry. Fight hard, little one. If you could live on prayers and love alone, you would thrive because so many people are praying for you and your mommy and daddy. But you know that Heavenly Father loves you because the veil has not totally closed for you yet. Draw on the strength from those ministering angels. Let your daddy and grandpas and uncles bless you with their priesthood power so your little body can be strong. And look at mommy as often as you can and gaze into her loving eyes and you will grow strong with her faith. She loves you so much. And hold daddy's finger in your hand and draw from his strength. He loves you too and would do anything for you.

Now rest. Being born is hard and you have some more hard days ahead of you. Sleep knowing that there are people here that love you, that love your mommy and daddy and will do whatever they can to help you as you make your way in this earth life. Sleep while you can. It will help your body get stronger

Sweet, precious little one. I am so happy that you are here and will pray for you and your mommy and daddy and for your doctors and nurses.

(good job mom and dad. Now you rest as well because you have some hard days ahead as well. You are going to get a lot of advice in the next little bit and I have a lot I could give, but the only thing I am going to say is this- sleep whenever possible- it will make you stronger)

She IS beautiful... just as I'd imagined. 24 hours of labor and then a C-section? Whatever it takes, that's what mamas do.

I'm off to read more and gaze lovingly at your sweet girl. I don't mean this in a creepy way, but I feel like she's the collective "ours," too. Part of each of us out here who have loved her, and her parents, throughout the incredible first part of her journey.
