On The Other Side of Anesthesia

Our little Emily came through surgery without any complications.
The next 24 hours are the most critical, but everyone is pleased with how well she's done up to this point.
She'll remain sedated tonight, and we'll remain near her side...
...but not too near because the sound of Daddy's voice causes her blood pressure to skyrocket.

Finally...my little baby is pink.
Pink is my new favorite color.

Thank you is never enough - but thank you.
The love shown to our little girl - and you are all included in that 'our' - is overwhelming.
And humbling.
And just...
Just...

Well, my heart is filled to overflowing with gratitude for all of it.

I have been following your blog since I stumbled upon it a month or so ago, and couldn't stop coming back to check on Emily. This is my first post. Yippee......PINK!!! I prayed this morning for God to put his hand upon your shoulder today and give you strength and courage. By the way, my son had a feeding tube from ages 2-5, so when I read your post about hers getting pulled out on Thanksgiving, oh BOY could I relate, and boy, does that kind of stuff make a Mama want to let loose with some four letter words, huh?!?!
Hang in there & know there are lots of people out here cheering Emily on! Dawn from Florida

The first thing I noticed in that picture is that her color is so much better. I'm so glad that things went well. I'll keep you all in my prayers.

She looks so sweet, even with everything that is hooked up to her.

Also, why do you think her daddy's voice makes her blood pressure skyrocket?

Such happy news! Handel said it best, "Hallelujah! Hallelujah!" She is so lovely in her new pink hue. Congratulations and prayers for her very normal and uncomplicated recovery.

She IS pink!!! I'm at work right now, but I'm all chocked up! I had a feeling things would be ok. My heart is so full right now!
(And I never noticed what beautiful eyelashes she has!)
